WeCook takes on one of the most common aspects of our daily lives, something we all must tackle three times a day, for the rest of our lives… cooking!

The idea came to them as whilst they were completing their studies. Once youngsters leave the family home, how do they manage the difficult task of shopping for food and cooking meals. They ended up creating a product they would have loved to have had : a website which gives you, according to your level of culinary expertise and preferred ingredients, a week’s worth of ready-made recipes and a corresponding shopping list.

The way our site differs from existing recipe sites is in the algorythms that we have been developing. Our goal is not necessarily to bombard the user with thousands of recipes but more to suggest appropriate meals according to the tastes of each user” they explain, fully aware of the strong competition in the field.

So what exactly are our engineers up to?

35 days before Investor Day, how do you feel? Ready? Under pressure? Late? Ahead of schedule? Stressed? We are on schedule, not yet ready but close to what we originally targeted : a fully functional public beta of WeCook.fr. We are also really eager to demonstrate WeCook.fr in front of great investors, the team actually enjoys showing how great it is.

Are you at the stage you planend to be two months ago, at the start of Le Camping? We are almost where we planned to be. A bit late (but who isn’t?) Our aim was  indeed still is, to release a public version by Investor Day. The product development has gone from strength to strength and the business aspects are becoming clearer.

Which point is harder to achieve than you thought? Something (difficulties) you hadn’t imagine? We have a hard time figuring out what constitutes the best user experience. We have had to make choices between different features to make the experience not only clearer but alsoas cool as we think it should be. Thinking  out the design of the website turned out to be much harder than what we had initially imagined.
